PERTAII1:NG TO THE EXTFJISION OF THE AUTO BUS LINES OF
THE PENINSULAR RAILWAY COIIP.A.BY .A:ND TRE INCREASE IN'
THE 1 ARES THEREOF.
The Co1mcil of the City of Palo Alto DO RESOLVE as follows:
THAT WHEREAS, the Pentbaular Railway Company
is operating auto buses and motor coaches within the
City ot Palo Alto and troa Palo A.lto to Stanford
University UDder tha provisions of Decision No. 15056
ot the Railroad Commission ot the State of California,
Application No. 9951 and supplemental orders or the
Railroad Commission ot the State of California thereto;
AND WHEREAS under the said ordara of the State Railroad Commission the said Paninsular Railway
Company is operating its bus line trom the Southern
Pacific Companrts depot 1n the City ot Palo Alto to
Sta.n.rord. university on a six cent f'are basis and r..ow.
proposea to extend ~aid Stanford University line to
College Terrace Addition 1n the Mayfield district of
the City of Palo Alto and to make other extensions
and increase the fare on said campus line to ten cents;
AND WHEREAS said Peninsular Railway Company
proposes to extend !ts service wit~tn the City of
Palo Alto to the College Terrace district, Hayfield,
and beyond the City of Palo Alto into San Mateo County,
Havens wood and North Palo Al'l~o district;
NOW, TEERF.F'ORE, BE I1' RESOLVED by the City
Council ot the City of Palo Alto as follow&:
First: That the Clerk of the City of Palo Alto
be instructed to inform the State Railroad Commission
of the State of California that it acquiesces and
recommends that an;y appl.ication made by the Peninsular
Railway Company to increase its fare on the so-called
line to Stanford University be granted.
~ec2gg: That any application made by the
Peninsular Railway Company to extend its service to
College Terrace district, Mayfield, Palo Alto and
to Ravenswood and North Palo Alto in the County of San llateo be granted ..
The abo\te and foregoing resolution was duly
passed by the Council or the City ot Palo Alto at a
regular meeting held on April 11, 1932, by the
following vote:
