Embarcadero Road w1.tb the tracks of the Southern Pacific
CoiDptm)'; and whereas; ~.'t ba8 cODJJidered the reco•enda-tion ot the aD&iLeers tiled in said .attar tor protecting
deYiC81 Other than aates; and ,
IBBREAS 1 this Council t in•• tba t the utter ot
tho installation ot gates at the crossing of Embarcadero
Road with ~he tracks ot the Southern Pe.citic Company in
s~id Cityt in accordance with plans aDd specifications
prepared ror said purpose by the office at the City
Engineer ot the City of Palo Alto, should be presented
to the Railroad Commission or the State ot California
1n accordance with the cit7ts Application No. 17071
therefor aa a protective device, insuring better satetr
and protection a·t this crossing than the sianal devices
recommended bf the engineers;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council approves the
original application No. 17071 now pending before the
Railroad Commission for the installation ot sates at
said crossing 1n accordance with the plans for manually
·operated aates attached hereto, and directs that said
application should be presented ~ ita attorney to said
Railroad Commission in accordance herewith.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly
and regularly passed by the City Council of the City ot Palo Alto at a regular meeting thereof held en
Barch 14, 1932, b,y the following vote:
