Palo Alto, and who, after tte completion or the posting of
aa1d noticea, tiled hi~ aaid affidavit in the office or tbe
city cler)J:' ot 11&1d c1ty, making oath tbat he completed the
posting or aa!d notices on the 17th d,&'J ·or June, l93'7J and
WHEREAS, notices o"!' the adoption ·or said re~olution
or intention were duly and legally mailed to all peteona
owning reAl property proposed to be aeaeaeed for aa1d work,
whose names and addressee appear on the la~t equalized
aseeeament roll for city taxes prior thereto or AB known to
the clerk of said city, in the time, manner and form prescribed
by law; and
~HEREAS, no protests or objections to said work or
1mprovementa or to the grades at wb1Ch the aame 1s to be done,
or to the dietriot to be aaaeased tor thl coats and expensee
thereof, have been filed and said c1tJ council has now acquired
jurisdiction to order tr~ propoaed work and improvement, --
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED bJ the City Council that tbe
public interest and convenience require the work described in
said resolution of intention, and said cit7 council does here-
by order that the wcrk and 1•provementa deacr1bed in said
resolution of intention be made in said city, reference being
~ereby made to said resolution ot 1nt~nt1on on tile ln ~e
otf1ce of the City Clerk or said C1tJ, for a full and complete
description of aa1d work.
That the 1aid eiti clerk ie hereby directed to poat
a notice of aaid work eonep euously for five (5) dnya on or
near the council chamber door of said. city council, 1nv1t1ns
sealed proposals or b1da for doing the work ordered. Be 1a
alao directed to publish twice in tne Palo Alto Times, a
Gaily newspaper published and o1reulated in aaid City or
Palo Alto, and hereb7 designated by said city council far
that purpose, a notice inviting auch sealed proposal• and re~
ferr1ng to the apecif1cat1ona on file in the office of said clerk.
All proposals or bids offered shall be accompanied
bJ a check payab~e to tbe City ot Palo Alto certified bJ a
responsible bank. for an amount which shall not be leas tban
ten (l)·pereent of the aggregate of the propoaal, or by & bond
