That whel""eaa, the Council did on the 14th da7 ot Dec-ember, 1936, paaa 1ts .Resolution ot In,ent1on Bo. 1129~ to·order
the following work to be done in pursuance ot an .let or the
Legislature of tho State ot California entitlftd, "An Act to pro-
vide tcr the laying out, open.1.ng, extending, widening, atra1gh.ten-
1ng, or closing up in whole or in part ~7 street, square, lane,
alleJ, court or place wi th1x1 munic1palii;1ea and to condemn and
acquire any and all land and propert7 necessary or convenient
tor that purpose•, approved Karch 6, 1889, as said aot has been
amended to date, to-wit a·
. That all ot that portion of South Court in the City ot
Palo Alto, beginning with the intersection of said South Court
with the northwesterly side of Colorado Avenue and extending
northwesterly for a distance of approximately one hundred ninety
(190) feet, be straightened so that South Court at ita intersec-
tion with the northwesterly side of' Colorado Avenue will not be
offset with t~ intersection of South Court on the aoutheasterl7
aide of Colorado Avenue~ and
Whereas~ the Street Superintendent ot the City of Palo
Alto did thereuppn cause notice ot the paaaage of said resolution
to be· posted and publ1abe4 tor ten da7s in the manner and form re-
quired b7 the provisions of.the aboTe mentioned street openine act;
and
Whereas, no objections have been filed against said ~o
poaed work and improvement, and more than ten daya have elapsed
since the expiration ot t~ publication of said notice ot the
paaaage ot said resolution, and the City Council haa acquired
jurisdiction to order wa1d work and improvement aa proposed;
NOW~ TEEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that allof that
portion of South Court in the City or Palo Alto~ beginning with
the intersection of said South Court with the northwesterly side
of Colorado Avenue and extending northwesterly tor a dietance
of approximatel7 one hundred ninety (190) teet, be straightened
so that South Court at itn intersection with the northweeterl~
side of Colorado Avenue will not 08 offset with the intersection
of South Court on the southeasterly aide of Colorado Avenue.
The above and foregoing resolution was duly and
regularl7 introduced and passed at a regular meeting or the
Council of the City ot Palo Alto held on Monday, the 8th day
ot March, 1937, by the following votes:
