IESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO

OP CHAPTER. 18.71 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE, WITH
RESPECT TO USES, CLUSTERING AND IMPERVIOUS AREA
tl!EIEAS, in 1972, the Counc:il .enacted Chapter 18.71 of the
Palo Alto Municipal Code, establishing regulations for the Open
Space District; and
WBERF.AS, the City Attorney and the city staff have inter-
preted portions of said chapter relating to uses, clustering and
impervious areas in a certain fashion; and ·
WHEREAS, several subdivisions withi~ said zone have been
approved under said interpretations: and ·
WRERBAS,·questions regarding interpretations of said chapter
continue to ~se;
. , BOW, TBEBUORE, the ~uncil of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE ·as follows:
SECTION 1. Sections 2-, 3 and 4 of this resolution are
declaratory of ·the existing law, and do not in any respect alter,
change, diminish or enlarge existing rights.and obligations under
Chapter 18.71 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code. ~ections 2, 3.and
4 of this resolution affirm the -con8is~ent -int~ot:ation, adminis-
tration and application of-tile poreiona of Chapter 18.7l·of the
municipal code previously made by the City Attorney. city staff,
and City Council in administration ·of said chapter· and in other
contezts.
· SBCTIOlf 2. -Sections 18.71.070 and 18.71.140(7) of the Palo
Alto RiiiilC!Pat Code are to be read together to give effect to each · 1
of said sections and; therefore. the. mnimma lot .area to ten acres
required by Section 18.-71.070 shall be read and construed to
provi.de for an avei;age denalty Of one dwelling U11it per ten.4cres·
of land throughout the enti:Ce:-parcel inVolved in ·any particular _
