HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5287... 90RI ,._-, 11 '' • " ~, ~ ·11~"il RESOLUTION NO. 5287 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATES OF PER DIEM ~.GES IN CONTRACTS FOR PUBLIC w"CRKS FOR THE CITY OF PALO ALTO, PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF SUCH RATES, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 5172, ADOPTED DECEMBER 8, 1975 WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 1773 of the Labor Code, a public body awarding a contract or undertaking public works must determine the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in accordance with standards set forth in said Code for each craft, classification, or type of worker needed to execute the contract; and WHEREAS, the City Council has ascertained and considered applicable wage rates established by collective bargaini~g agreements within the locc. \ity and in the nearest labor market area, particularly the San~a Clara-San Benito Counties Building and Construction Trades Council wage scales; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION l. The Council hereby determines the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as of December 31, 1976, in the Palo Alto locality for all public works under contract to be that set forth in EXHIBIT A to be attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference upon publication by the County • of Santa Clara. SECTION 2. The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds that the enactment of this resolution is not a "project .. within the meaning of that term as defined in Section 11.04.130 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code and, therefore. no environmental assessment is necessary. SECTION 3. The City Clerk hereby is directed to send a certi£Ie<rcopy of this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Santa Clara, and said County is authorized to publish said wage rates as required by law. SECTION 4. The City Clerk hereby-is directed to send a certified copy.of this resolution to the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California, San Francisco, California. SECTION 5. Resolution No. 5172, adopted December 8, 1975. is repealed. effective December 31. 1976, or upon publication of the general prevailing wage rates by the County of Santa Clara.
