r.ESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING THE PRESENCE OF OAXACA, OAX., EXCHANGE STUDENT~ ..\Nt
WELCOMING THEM TO THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
WHEREAS, cultural exchange resulting from people-to-people conanunication
is the foundation of the Sieter City Program which attempts to further inter-
national understanding; and
WHEREAS, Oaxaca paya its reepecta to Palo Alto by ••ndins a aroup of
.fifteen excbanse students; and
WHEREAS, theee Oaxaca exchange student• are welcomed to th2 City of Palo
Alto and into the homes of Palo Alto residents; and
WHEREAS, this cultural.exchange participation exemplifies the mutual
objective of the two citie&~·tbat of attempting to promote and encourage and
cultivate understanding between the people of the two communities; and
WHEREAS, this exchange program has proven to be mutually beneficial;
NOW, THEREFORE the Council of ~he City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
SECTION 1: That thi.8-Couu.cil.recognizes the presence of, and welcomes
to this community, exchange students from·_our-Sister-city of Oaxaca.
SECTION 2: That thu.Couwtll.on behalf of the people oi Palo Alto express
our heartfelt·appreciaA:ha;lto::.theaa_students for their-warm and significant
contribution to the Sister City vcogra.n.
SECTION 3: That thia.Couucil honors and recognizes this exchange program
as a vital element in the perpetuation and continaatiou-of this program.
