RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THE PALO ALTO PLA?.'NING COMMISSION
FOR OUTSTANDING.AND CONSCI~'TIOUS EFFORTS-
RE THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS,. in January, 1973, the Planning Commission and the Planning
staff commenced work on the preparation of Comprehensive Plan for the
City of Palo Alto; and . ·~-
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held extensive public hearings and
encouraged participation by and comments from all sections of the
community; and
~. the Planning Commission communicated continuously with the
citiz•ps throughout this planning process and published three documents,
the Impact Report in 1974, the Draft Comprehensive Plan in 1975, and the
Fin.al Comprehensive Plan in 1976; and
WHEREAS, The Director of Planning and Community Environment and his
staff worked closely with the Planning Commission and guided its study
and review of all stages of the Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City-Council is appreciative of the Commission's per-
formance and its thoroughness, patience· and dedication in completing its
review of the Comprehensive Plan on June 9, 1976;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo
Alto expresses to th~ Planning Commission and-the Planning staff, on
behalf of itself and the entire community, thanks and appreciation for
a thoro~gh, concise and professions~ draft Comprehensive Plan.
