FOR HISTORic··PRESERVit'!'TOtrGRAm'-lN-AlD PONDS "TOR
THE VETERANS' BUILDING 'REllASI!ll'rJt'rION AND PRESERVAT!ON.
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the congress of the united ··states under Public Law
89-665 has authorized the·estab1ishinent of aNationa1 Historic
Pr~servation Grants-in-Aid-Program~ providing matching funds to
the State of California ~nd"its poli~ical subdivisions for
historic preservation, survey, planning, development and acquisi-
tion projectsJ and
WHEREAS, the Department·of f'ar\s-and"Recreation of the State
of California is responsible.for the administration of the program
within the State,· setting u~. necessary rules and procedures
governing appl~cations. by local"agencies under the program1 and
WHEREAS, -said adopted· proced'1res .estab"lished by' said De~
partment of Parks· and Recreation: require the applicant to certify
by resolution the· approval of applications and .the availability
of local nia-\.ching funds prior "to submission of said applicati'!ns
to the State1
NOW, THEREFORE,""the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION l. The Council approves the filing of an applica-
tion for the·Nationa1·aistotic·Preservation Grants-in-Aid assistance

SECTION 3. The Council agrees that all requ.i::-ed local matching
funds will be provided ·for the.project.
SECTION 4 • The council hereby finds-that passaqe of this
resolution is not a project as defined-in Section ll.04.13c·of
the Palo Alto M'Unic1pal Cede· and, t1l•refore, no environmental
impact assessment is necessary.
