RESOLUTION or THE COUNCIL or T CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING ITS INTENTION TO FUND ADVANCED WASTE
TREATMENT FACILITIES UTILIZING JOINT FEDERAL AND
STATE GRANT FUNDING AND SEWER FUND RESERVES
WHEREAS, the Regional Water Quality Control Board for
South San Francisco Bay has established stringent water q".ality
objectives for water discharged into tha San Francisco Bay: and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto has caused to be prepared
pilot studies of alternative methods of meeting said water
quality objectives by construction of advanced waste treatment
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto intends to fund the advanced
waste treatment facilities, but only to the extent that these
facilities are eligible for eighty-five percent (85%) joint
federal and state grant funding~ and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto intends to finance its
proportionate share of the advanced waste treatment facilities
funding from sewer fund reserves;
NOW, THEREFORE, the council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTioN·l. The Council of the City of Palo Alto intends
to fund the advanced.'waste treatment facilities only to the
extent that these facilities are eligible for eighty-five per-
cent (85%) joint federal and state funding.
SECTION 2. The Council of ·the City.of Palo Alto further
intends to finance its proportionate share of the advanced
waste treatment facilities funding from sewer fund reserves.
