CASUAL/SPECIAL PERSONNEL /,}wf t'• The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE asVfdl- lows: SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of .Section -12 of Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the amended Compensation Plan, as set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, hereby is adopted for casual/ special personnel effective December 21, 1975. SECTION 2. The amended Compensation Plan adopted herein shall be ad.ministered by·the City Manager in accordance with the Merit System Rules and Regulations. SECTION 3. The amended Compensation Plan shall become effective for 1975-76 Pay Period No. 1 beginning December 21, 1975, and shall continue in effect until amended or revoked by the Council. SECTION 4. The City Controller hereby is authorized to imple- ment ~:he amended Compensation Plan adopted herein in his prepara- tion of forthcoming payrolls and to make retroactive adjustments to employees' pay to reflect the effective date of December 21, 1975 •. He is further authorized to make changes to the titles of employee classifications identified in the Table of Authorized Personnel contained in the 1975-76 Budget if such titles have been changed by the amended Compensation Plan. SECTION 5. Resolution Nos. 5151, 5113, 5107, 4958, and 4813 as to casual/special personnel hereby are rescinded. SECTION 6. The Council of.the City of Palo Alto hereby finds that the enactment of this resolution is not· a· "project" within the meaning of that term as defined in Section 11~04.130 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code and, therefore, no· environmental assessment is necessary. Salary Range Table Personnel covered by this plan shall receive compensation within the salary ranges set forth in the Salary Range Tables that follow. B. -!!_tablishment of Salary The City Manager. is authorized to make appointments to or advancements within the prescribed ranges upon evaluation of employee qualification and perfonnance. SECTION lI. SPECIAL CCl4PENSATION A. Casual Appointees · .. Employees filling such positions will not be eligible for benefits. _except those required by law. In any seven-day work week. overtime premium will be paid for hours tr«>rked in excess of 40. B. ' -' i , PALO ALTO COMPENSATION PLAN EFFECTIVE: June 22, 1975 • Casual/Special Personnel AMENDED: December. 21, 1975 CASUAL APPOINTMENTS will be limited .to positions which require fewer than 40 working hours per week, and which do not exceed under any circumstances 12 months in duration, or those requiring fewer than 20 hours per week on an indefinite basis. · SPECIAL APPOINTMENTS will be limited to positions which are full time (40 hours per week) but which do not exceed 12 consecutive months. Thfs will include full-time seasonal appointments which recur each yuar but which do not exceed nine months in twelve.
