HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5749• ORIGla\JAl RESOLUTION NO. 5749 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO APPROVING THE USi: OF 1980-81 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS WHEREAS, on February 12, 1979, the City Council adopted the 1979-82 Com:nunity Development Plan, the 1979-82 Conmunity Develop- ment Program and the 1979-82 Housing Assistance Plan; and WHEREAS, the 1980-81 CODl1lUllity Development Funds are proposed in order to implement the above plans and program; and WHEREAS, potential uses in federal Community Development Block Grant funds have been evaluated in light of the needs of the com- munity Committee and other interested citizens; and WHEREAS, the Finance and Public Works Committee and the City Council have held advertised public hearings on the proposed use of 1980-81 Conmrunity Development Funds; and WHEREAS, it is the intent of this program to give the highest priority to activities which will benefit low/moderate income per- sons and aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. The Council hereby adopts the use of Community Development fundB for the following programs: 1. Tenant/Landlord Information and Mediation Referral; 2. Caravan House, Palo Alto Adolescent Services Corporation; 3, Palo Alto Community Child Care -Renovation of Ventura School; 4. Adlai E. Stevenson House; 5. Senior Home Repair Service; 6, Midpeninsula Citizens for Fair Housing; 7. Project SAFE; 8, Palo Alto Housing Corporation Administration; 9. Rental Housing Acquisition Program; 10. Palo Alto's Citywide Housing Improvement Program; 11. Housing Land Bank; 12. Renovation of Harvey House; 13. Comaninity Development Program Administration. SECTION 2. The Council hereby authorizes staff to submit the approprLate application forms for 1980-81 Community Development funds, with such money to be used as indicated in the adopted Com- munity Development Plan and Program, and hereby authorizes the Mayor, the City Manager and other appropriate City officials to sign the application forms wherever necessary. . -· . ' ' . • SECTION 3. The Council finds that none of the provisions of this resolution will have a significant adverse environmental impact.
