HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5743ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 5743 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO MODIFYING MERIT SYSTEM RULES AND REGUIATIONS SECTION 709 REGARDING MANAGEMENT FLOATING HOLIDAYS WHEP.EAS, this Council has considered Section 709 of the Merit System Rules and Regulations and desires that the floating holidays available for management employees be the same as those provided other miscellaneous employees working the same schedule, as has been intended; ROW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does lt.ESOLV! aa follows: SECTION 1. Section 709 of the C~~y of Palo Alto Merit System Rules and Regulations shall be amended to read as follows: n70~. Modified work week. Effective February 1974, all employees clas~ed as Management and Confident:ial employees will receive gcheduled paid days off in order to yield a three-day weekend in the months designated below. In the event such daya cannot be scheduled, the Ciry Manager may authorize equivalent additions to vacation accrual or in lieu salary payment. The affected calendar months shall be: March, April, June, August. "This section is subject to administra- tive rules issued by the Cicy Man4ger." This rate shall become effective on the date of full operation of Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facilities as determined by the Chief Engineer, Water-Gae-Sewer Ut:ilitiee or July 1, 1980, whichever comes first. For any dwelling unit being served by more than one sewer connectiun, the monthly charge will be applied to each connection.
