RESOLUTION 01 THE COUNCIL OF~ OF PALO ALTO
ABARDONING ORE-POOT NOR-ACCESS USDVE STRIPS AT
THE TEIQfiNI OF ALEXIS DR.IVE ARD LAUREL GLEN DR.IVE
WHERE\S, on December 18, 1978, the City Council approved a
tentative subdivision map for approximately 90± acres of land
generally located at the termini of Alexis Drive and Laurel Glen
Drive in the City of Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, on August 13, 1979, the City Council approved a final
subdivision map for the above-mentioned eubdivision; and
WHEREAS, as the result of previous development and subdivisions
of land in the same general vicinity, one-foot non-access reserve
atrips at the termini of Alexis Drive and Laurel Glen Drive were
dedicated to the City of Palo Alto in order to insure cont~ol of
access onto said streets and any future extension of said streets.
Those dedications were made by those certain maps entitled "Tract
No. 3307-Palo Alto Hills Unit No. 2," recorded in Bod~ 138 at: pages
20 and 21, Maps of the County of Santa Clara, Deceaber 23. 1964,
and "Tract No. 4347 -Country Club West Ur.it No. l," recorded in
Book 266 at pages 47 and 48, Maps of the County of Santa Clara,
.April 16, 1970; and
WUEREAS, the present subdivision requires the extension of
both Alexis Drive and Laurel Glen Drive, necessitating vacation of
the non~acceas reserve strips referred to above, said vacation being
a condition of approval of the subdivision. ·
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council hereby finds that the non-access re-
·serve strips at the termini of Alexia Drive and Laurel Glen Drive.
ref erred to above are no longer needed for any public use or purpoee
and that the vacation of said reserve stripe is consistent w!.th the
Palo Alto Comprehensive ~lan and is required for the public welfare,
interest and safety.
SECTION 2. The Council hereby vacate~, abandons, and relin-
quishes thOae two one-foot non-access reserve strips located at
the termini of Alexia Drive and Laurel Glen Drive in the City of
Palo Alto, as more specifically described above. Thia vacation shall become ef fectiv~ U!tOU racordation of thia resolution in the
Office of the County Recorder ea provided below.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk hereby is directed to cause a copy
of thia resolution to be recorded in the Office of the County Re-
corder of the Co\Dlty of Santa ~lara at such time as the final aut..·
diviaion map referred to above ia. atmilarly recorded.
