RESOLUTION NO. 5704 -----
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SCHEDULES R-1, R-1-FA, R-2, R-3, and R-4
OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO UTILITIES RATES AND CHARGES
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Section 12.20.010 of the Palo Alto Municipal
Code, Schedules R-1, R-1-FA, R-2, R-3, and R-4 (Domestic Refuse Collec-
tion, Refuse Collection, Commercial Refuse Collection-Standard 32-Gallon
Containers, Commercial Refuse Collection-Special Containers, Commercial
Refuse Collection, Detachable Containers and Special Refuse Collection)
of the Palo Alto Utilities Rates and Charges are hereby amended to read
as proposed in Sheets 127j, 127.ld, 128d, 129j 130d, 130.ld, and 13lf
attached hereto.
SEC'fION 2. The Council hereby finds that the adoption of said rates
and the revenues derived therefrom sh&.11 be used only for the purposes
set 0\1 t in the Palo Al to City Charter, Article VI I; Section 2, ent:i t led,
"Public Utilities Revenue." The adoption of said rates is specifically
exempted from the requirements of CEQA under Public Resources Code Section
21080(b)(8).

and the Contractor. in such event, shall provide the collection service
at or below the charge determined by the City Engineer. 'l'be charge will

Charges made under this schedule shall be adJed to the regular
ll01lthly utilities bill of the pereon receiving the service and

to one (1} thirty-two (32) gallon can per apartment per week.

Contractor.
TERRITORY:
Within the incorporated limits of the City of Palo Alto and on land
owned or leased by the City located in S<·:vice Area 1.

The monthly charge fo~ services not shown on the following schedule
of rates will b~ determined by the Contractor. In the event that the
euetomer and Contra~tor cannot agree upon the charge, the City Engineer
shall determine a charge that he considers to be just and reasonable
and the Contractor, in such event, shall provide the collection service
at or oelow the charge determined by the City Engineer. The charge will
be based on the average amount of refuse collected from the establish-
ment in containers of 32-gallon capacity.

or electric service is being rendered.
