RESOLUTION vF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY -OF PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING THE PRfSENC~ OF, AND WELCOMING TO lHE CITY OF PALO ALTO
OAXACA, OAXACA REPRESENTATIVES
WHEREAS, cultural exchange resulting from people-to-people comnun1cat1on
is the foundation of the Sister City Program wh1ch attempts to further
international understanding; !nd
WHEREAS, Oaxaca pays 1ts r£spects to Palo Al to by sending 1ts representative
ARQ. RAFAEL BALLESTEROS VIZCARRA; and
WHEREAS, ARQ. RAFAEL BALLESTEROS VIZCARRA ts welcomed to the City cf Palo
Alto lnd into the homes of Palo Alto residents; and
WHEREAS, th1s cultural exchange part1c1pat1on exemp11f1es the mutual
obJect1vA. of the two cities, that of attempting to·promote and encourage and
c~lt1vate understanding between the peop14 of the two cornnunit1es; and
WHEREAS, t~is exchange program has proven to be mutually beneficial;
NOW, THEP.EFORE the Council of the C1ty of P&lo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
SECTION 1: T~at this Council recognizes the presence of,
ARQ. RAFAEL BALLESTEROS VIZCARRA a~d welcomes ARQ. RAFAEL BALLESTEROS VIZCARRA
to th1s conmun1ty from our Sister C1ty of Oaxaca.
SECT!ON 2: That th1s Council on behalf of the people of Palo Alto
expresses its heartfelt appreciation to ARQ. RAFAEL BALLESTEROS VIZCARRA
for his wann and s1gn1f1:ant ccntr1but1on to the Sister C1ty program.
SEr.TION 3: That this Council honors and recognizes this exchange
program as a vital Jlement in the perpetuation and continuation of this
progra.n.
