RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF TH! CITY OF PALO ALTO
ADOPTING SALARIES FOR COUNCIL APPOIHTED OFFICERS
WHEREAS, the provisions of SB 154 (1978) effectively prevent•d
discussions and adjustment of salaries in approximately July 1978,
the time when salary adjustments would otherwise have been prov\ded,
and such provisions of SB 154 have now b.een held unconstitutiom~l; and
WHEREAS, Council appointed officers are properly considered as
part of management for Presidential guideline purposes;
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the Charter authority· of the City of
Palo Alto, the salaries of Council appoint~d officers shall be:
Effective the pay period including July l, 1978,
the following monthly salary adjustf!lents shall
be made:
City Manager
City Controller
-City Clerk
$4,028/month
$2,703imonth
$2, 173jmonth
Effective April 9. 1979, the following monthly
salary adjustment shall be made:
City Attorney
City Controller
City Clerk
$3,500/month
$2,730/month
$2,300/month
SECTIOU 2. Said salaries shall be a part of the management
Compensation Plan which shall be continued in all other respects.
SECTION 3. The City Controller hereby is authorized to imple-
ment the salaries set forth in Section 1 above in his preparation
, of ~orthcoming payrolls and to ~ke retroactive adjustments as
required. ·
SECTION 4. The Council finds that this is not a project under
the California Environmental Quality Act, and, therefore. no environ-
Mental impact assessment is necessary. ·
