' • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 5671 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE METROPOLITAN TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION FOR ALLOCATION OF TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1979-80 WHEREAS, the Transportation Development Act of 1971 provides for the disbursement of funds from the Local Transportation Fund of the County of Santa Clara for use by eligible claimant:s for the purpose of Conununity Transit Services~ and WHEREAS, pursuant to the rules and regulations that have been adopted by the Secretary of the Business and Transportation Agency of the State of California in accordance with the provisions of the afore- mentioned legislativn, an eligible claimant wishing to receive an allocation from the Local Transportation Fund shall file its application with the appropriate transportation planning agency; and WHEREAS, funds from the LOcal Transportation Fund will be required to provide subsidi2ed taxi service for low income, elderly and handi- capped who are unable to use public transit and cannot drive automobiles; • NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION-1. The Council hereby approves, and authorizes the City Manager to execute and file, an appropriate claim pursuant to the terms of the Transportation Development Act ·.of 1971, as amended, and pursuant to applicable rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, together with all necessary supporting documents, with the Metropolitan Transpor- tation Conunission, for fiscal year 1979-80 Transportation Development Act moneys. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit.a-copy of_. this resolution to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission in conjunc- tion with the filing of the claim; and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission be requested to concur in these findings and grant the allo~ cations of funds as specified herein~ SECTION 3. The Council finds that the adoption of this resolution does not constitute a project as defined by the California Environmental Quality Act or Title 11 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code.
