RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE
STATE LITTER CONTROL, RECYCLING AND RESOURCE RECOVERY
FUHD. AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE APPLICATION
AUD RELATED PAPERS BY THE CITY MANAGER
tnIEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California has enacted
the State Litter Control, Recycling and Resom:ce Recovery Act wh1ch
provides funds-to certain entities for lit:ter cleanup, litter law
enforcement, litter education, and purchase of litter receptacles;
and
WHEREAS, the State Solid Waste Management Board has been dele-
gated the responsibility for the administration of the program,
setting up necessary procedures governing application by local
agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Solid Waste
Management Board require the applicant to certi~y the approval of
applications prior to submicsion of said applications to the state;
and
WHEREAS. the City of Palo Alto desires tc make application for
said funds;
NOW. THEREFORE. th~ Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The filing of an application for funding under the
Litter Control, Recycling and Resourc~ Recovery Fund is approved.
SECTION 2. The Council hereby certifies that it understands
the general provisions of the grant agreement; and by this resolution
the Council authorizes the City Manager on behalf of the City to
conduct all negotiations and to execute and submit all documents in-
cluding but not limited to, applications. grant agreements, amendments
and payment requests, which may be necessary for the completion of
the aforementioned program.
