FOR OUTSTANDING AND CONSCIENTIOUS SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION ORIGINAL Cole Richmond, Jr. has diligently and unselfishly contributed of his time, talents and energy while serving the City of Palo Alto as a Hum.an Relations Commissioner from 1975 to 1978; and Cole Richmond, Jr. assisted the CoUllllission in substantive and thoughtful efforts by his ability to ask penetrating questions and by bringing his thoughtful forcefuln~ss to bear upon issues concerning human relation- ships in the community; and Cole Richmond, Jr. contributed to·the community during his tenure as commissioner by ser~ing as Human Relations Commission liaison to the NAACP and City's Affirmative Action Committee and the county's Transpor- tation Committee, by monitoring and reporting to the Commission on legislative matters pertaining to human rights, by contributing to the ~learinghouse and to mediation services in the community, by his involve- ment in fair housing, leisure services and outreach activities, and by his production assistance for the Commission's annual reports; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstand~ and conscientious public service of Cole Richmond, Jr. and records its apprecistion as well as the appre-.. ciation of the citizens of this community for the service and contribu- tions rendered during his term of office. ~"TRODUCED AND PASSED: January 15, 1979 AYES: Brenner, Clay, Eyerly, Fazzino~ Fletcher, Henderson, Sher, Witherspoon NOES" None ABSENT: Carey ATTEST: A17PROVED: Mayor APPROVED AS TO FORM: cityorney city >'Uiser
