RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING THE MISCELLANEOUS DIVIS!ON OF LAND AT
1001 AMARILLO AVENUE AND GRANTING EXCEPTIONS WITH
CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, 15,120 square feet of property zoned R-1 and located
at ~.001 Amarillo Avenue in the City of Palo Alto, hereinafter referred
to as the ''subject property" is proposed to be re-divided into·
two (2) lots; and
WHEREAS, lots in an R-1 (Single-Family Residence District
Regulations) zone district are required by Section 21.20.110 ·
of the Palo Alto Municipal Code to have a width of 60 feet ~nd
the proposed lots fail to have this depth; and
WHEREAS, the width stated above requires exceptions from
said requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
. SECTION 1. The City Council finds that there are special
conditlons affecting the lots, including the fact that the depth
of the proposed lots is greater than the required· 100 feet and
the resulting lot area would.be 7,560 square· feet for each lot,
where 6,000 square feet is required and that the exceptions granted
herein are necessary for the preservation and enjoyment of a sub-
stantial property right of the petitioner, and that the e~ceptions
granted herein will not be detrimental to the public welfare or
injurious to othei: property in the territory in which this property
is situated.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby approves the Miscellaneous
Oivislon of Land for the subject property, as· shown on the map
attached herein and incorporated nerein·by·reference, and grants
the exceptions to the sixty (60) foot width requirement as provided
in Chapter 21.28 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code Ylith the following
conditions:
a. Prior to recordation of the final map, the developer
shall demolish existing buildings on the property1
b. No future variances shall be granted for any con-
struction on this property.
SECTION 3. The City Council hereby finds· that the proposed
project will not have a significant· impact on the environment.
