RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCll OF THE Ctlt OF PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING THE PRESENCE OF, AND ~ELCOMING TO THE ClT~ OF PALO ALTO
OAXACA, OAXACA TEACHERS
WHEREAS, cultural exchange resulting from people~tJ·people conmunicat1on
1s the foundation of the S1stet City Progrdm whic.h attempts to fu1·ther
international understanding; and
WHEREASs Oaxaca pays its respects to Palo Alto by sending fo~r
teachers; and
WHEREAS, these teachers ai·e welcomed to the City of Pa·10 Alto and
into the homes of Palo Alto res·dents; and
WHEREAS, this cultural exchange ?art1cipat10n exemp11fies the
mutual objective of the two cities, that of attempting to promote and
encourage·and cultivate understanding between the people of the two
conmun1t1es; and
WHEREAS~ this exchange program has proven to be mutually benefic.ial;
NOW, THEREFORE the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
SECTION l: That this Councit recognizes the presence of, and
welcomes to this comnunity, teacher5 from our Sister Cit1 of Oaxaca.
SECTION 2: That this Co~nc1l on beoalf of the people of Palo
Al to eJCpresses its heartfelt apprec iat 1on to these teachers for their
warm and significant contribution to the Sister City program,
SECTION 3: That this Council honors and recognizes this ex-
change program as a vital elemPnt .n the perpetuation and continuation
of this program.
