RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF PALO ALTO RECOGNIZING
HAL LAWRENCE
WHEREAS, Hal Lawrence, a businessman in the City of Palo Alto
for many years, departed Palo Alto on August 15, 1978
in his motor glider aircraft, "The Lark 11 ; and
WHEREAS, Hal Lawrence has successfully completed a flight of
approximately 18,000 miles around the coastline of
the United States, excluding the States of Hawaii
and Alaska; and
WHEREAS, Hal Lawrence having accomplished his goal, is returning
to Palo Alto Airport on October 4, 1978;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that with great pride and honor,
the City Council of the City of Palo Alto congratulates
Hal Lawrence on his remarkable aeronautic feat of
circumnaviga~1ng the continental United States in his
glider aircraft and welcomes him on his return to Palo
Al to.
