PLAN FOR. SANTA CLARA COUNTY ESTABLISHING AN INTERIM,
COUN'l"YWIDE ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTURE
WHEREAS. the County of Santa Cla~a and all the cities therein
have regularly approved and adopted a Countywide Solid Waste Manage-
ment Plan as required under pyovision& of Senate Bill 5 and subse-
quent State legislation; and ·
WHEREAS 1 the Solid Waste Management Boa~d of the State of
Califo-rn:J.a, in granting "partial approval" to t.he Plan held a single
r·eservation related to the adm1n1stracion, maintenance, and imple-
mentation of the Plan and its recommendations during the formative
period for a Countywide Joint Powei:s Agency; and
WHEREA~. the City of Palo Alto recognizes the need for an
INTERIM ADMINISTR>.T!'lr · ~'rRTTCTURE for SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT and the -
provisions of the amendment herein referred to, in the liLht of re-
quirements of the local program and the State Board;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION l, The City of Palo Alto hereby approves an amendment
to the So!Ia Waste Managemenc Plan fol'." Santa Clara County which
establishes an interim, countyw1de administrative structure to im~
plem~nt said plan.
SECTION 2. The Ci.ty Clerk is direct.ed to forward a certified
copy of this resolution to the Sanca Clara County Board of Super-
visors ··
SECTION 3, The Council finda chat: this is not a· 'project as
defined in Section 11.04.130 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code and,
therefore, no environmental impact assessm.anc is nec~ssary.
