WHEREAS, LAWRENCE W. SMITH has diligently and unselfishly c0ntributed
of his time and calente while serving as a member of the Rental Housing
Mediation Taak Force from July 1, 1973 to Ausust 31, 1977: and

WHEREAS, LAWRENCE w. SMITH has worked untiringly in mediating disputes
·between landlord& and tenants and in othe~ activities designed to ·improve
the quality of rental housing in the community; and
WHEREAS,. LA'WRENCE W. SMITH has made a aignif icant personal contribution
to the community through his efforts in facilitating harmonious and fair
rental housing relationships among te1'ants, owners, and managers in Palo
Alto; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto wishes to exprees its
appreciation to LAWRENCE W. SMITH for hie outstauding efforts iii the public
interest;
NOW, THEREFOREt BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo
Alto hereby expresses its appreciation and com.nends LAWRENCE W. SMITH for
his public service as a member of the Rental Housing Mediation Task Force.
