A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ~ACATE FUTURZ RESIDUAL STREET
RIGHTS OP WAY ALONG WILLOW ROAD {SAND BILL ROAD)
SAHD RILL ROAD (FORMERLY WILLOW ROAD)
PROJBCT NO. 74-6S
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of _Palo Alto, California,
as follows:
1. Thia Council hereby elects to take proceedings to vacate
future residual street rights of way along Willow R<>ad (to be
renamed ~and Bill Road) from San Prancisquito Creek to ArJ>oretum
Road, as described in Exhibit •A" hereto attached and made a part
hereof, pursuant to the provisions of Part 3 (conaencing with
Section 8300) of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of Celifornia.
2. The public interest and convenience require, and it is the
intention of said Council ·to order the vacation of said residual
street rights of way as described in Bxhibit •A•.
3. That in the opinion of said council the said street or
portion thereof herein proposed to be vacated is unnecessary for
present or prospective public street purposes.
4. For further particulars as to the location of said
residual rights of way proposed to be abandoned, reference is hereby
made to those certain plats entitled, respectively, •aesidual Parcel
Ho. 1, Residual Parcel No. 2, Residual Parcel No. 3 and Residual
Parcel No. 4, Sand Bill Road 'roject Ro. 74-65 Assessment District•,
which plats aye·on file in the office of the Clerk of the City of
Palo Alto.
5. Notice is hereby given that Mcnday, the 7th day of
llOvellber, 1977, at 7:30 o'clock p.a. at the council Chambers of tbe
Council of said City Civic Cent•r, 250 Hamilton Avenue, Palo Alto,
California, 1• hereby fixed •• the time and place when and where any
--
and all persons interested in or having any objections to said
proposed vacation, may appear before said council and show cause why -
said proposed vacation should not be carried out in accordance with
this Resolution of Intention.
6. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution of Intention to
-be published or posted in the manner prescribed by law for the
publishing or posting of ordinances of the City.
7. The Superintendent of Streets or the City Clerk shall
cause Notice of the Proposed Street Vacation to be conspicuously
-posted along the line of t~e portion of the street proposed to be
vacated, at least ten (10) days before the date set for the hearing
by this Resolution. Such notices shall. be posted not more than
three hundred (300) feet apart, but at least three shall be posted
on the portion proposed to be vacated. Such notices shall state the
passage of this Resolution of Intention and the time and place of
the hearing.
