HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 5448t • ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. ~448 RESOLUTION OF THE COt,~CIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR 1974 STATE GRANT FUNDS (BOL PARK IMPROVEMENTS) WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the "State Beach, Park, Recreational, and Historical Facilities Bond Act of 1974" which provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for acquiring lands and developing facilities for public outdoor recreation and historical purposes; and - WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation h~s been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within-the State, setting up necessary procedures govern- ing application by local agencies under the program; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of P~~ks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of said applica- tions to the State; and WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the appli- cant must comply with; and WHEREAS, said procedures further require the applicant to possess an adopted plan showing parks and recreation lands and facilities, existing and proposed; and WHEREAS, the proposed Bol ?ark Improvements, which appear on the City's plan, are consistent with the California Outdoor Recreation Resources Plan and are in conformity with the State Environmental Goals and Policy Report; and WHEREAS, the project must be compatible with the land use pians of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby: 1. Approves the filing of an application for 1974 State Grant assistance; 2. Certifies that said agency-understands the assurances in the application; 3. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; 4. Certifies that said agency meets the planning requirements -and that the project is compatible with the land use plans of those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project; -5. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, and payment requests, which may be necessary for the completion of the afore- -mentioned project; and -1- .
