RESOLUTION OP TH! COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY PAllCEL MAP FOR PR.OPERT'i
LOCATED AT 848 SAN JUDE AVENUE", ASSESSOR'S PARCEL
NUMBER 137-14-047, ARD GRANTING EXCEPTIONS
SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, 21,648.37 square fee~ of property-zoned R-1 and located at
848 San Jude Avenue, identified as Aaae~sor's Parcel Number 137-14-047, herein-
after referred to as the "subject -property" is proposed to be divided into two (2)
lots; and -
_ WHEREAS, lot l is reqtr'...red by Section 21.20.110 of the Palo Alto
Municipal Code to have a minimma_depth of 100 feet, but fails to have such
depth, requiring an exception from said requirement;
NOW TBEREFOBE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that there are special conditions
affecting lot 1 due to the location. of the.lot on a curved cul-de-sac and the
fact that the lot width of 87.5 feet exceeds the.mnillua 60 foot width require-
ment by 27.S feet, thereby producing a lot with an ai:-ea of 6,940 square feet,
940 square feet larger than. the Jdnimllll .lot . m:ea required; that the exception
granted herein is nec~:aty for the preservation and enjoyment of a substantial
property right of the pet!,tioner; and that the exception granted herein will
not be detrimental to the .pubU.c welfare or injuric>us to other property in the
tenitory in whi.ch this property ·1s situated.
SECTION 2. The City Ccuncil..bareby approves the preliminary parcel
map for the subject property,. as shown. on-the aap .attached hereto and incorporated.
herein by reference, and.grant-a the·.aception to the requirement of Section 21.20.110
of the Palo Alto MmUcipal Code, subject to the following conditions:
1. The subdivision shall cca:ply with all applicable codes and
requirements including the requirements of the Light •d
Power Division of the Public Utilities Department.
2. The subdivider shall dedicate.to the City of Palo Alto on
the parcel aap those-·port1.ons of Tillllott Court and Tialott
Lane needed to comp1ete present indicated alignment,
including a 10-foot radius at the property line at the
intersection.
3. The subdivider shall: cOQStruct concrete curb, gutter• and
sidewalk in line with and to mateb_gxisrtng illlproveaents.
The plans for these improvements shall be approved by the
Director of Puh~ic Works.
4. The subdivider shall ccmatruct a_ra:mp for the handicapped-
at the Southwesterly corQer of Tialott Court and Timlott
Lane. ·

trees as required by the Parks Department.
6. All wort shall be done in accordance with City of Pa1o Al.to

7. The subdivider shall execute an agreement for performance
of all required public i:mprovem.ents and a surety bond to
guarantee completion of aaid public improvements prior to
the approval of the final 'llllp.
. SECTIO"'d 3. The City Council hereby fiuda. that tba proposed project
is in conformance w:lth the Comprehensive Plan and with zoning and will not have
a significant impact on the environment.
