RESOLUTION OP THE COUNCIL OF. THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
RECOGNIZING-THE PRESENCE OF OAXACA, OAXACA EXCHANGE STUDENTS At.'1>
~LCOMlNG THEM TO THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
WHEREAS. cultu~al exchange resulting from p~ople-to-p~orle communi-
cation is the foundation of the Sister City Program which ~~:empts to
further international understanding; and
WHEREAS, Oaxaca pays its respects to Palo Alto by sending a group
of ten exchange students; and
WHEREAS, these Oaxaca exchange &tudents are welcomed to the City of
P&l.o Alto and into the.homes of Palo Alto residents; and
WHEB.EAS, this cultural exchange participation exemplifies the
mutual obj~ctive of the two cities, that of attempting to promote and
encourage and cult.:.vate understanding between the people o~ the tvo
communities; and .
WBEREAS, this exchange program. baa proven to be autuaµ.ly beneficial;
ROW, THEREFORE the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
SECTION 1: That this Council recognizes the presence of, and
welcomes to this community, exchange students from our Sister City of
Oaxaca. .,.
SECTION 2: That this Council on behalf of the·people of Palo Alto
express our heartfelt appreciation to these students for their warm and
significant contribution to the Sister City program.
SECTION 3: That this Council bonor.J and recognizes this .exchange
program. as.a vital element in the perpetuation and continuation of this
program.
