RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ADOPTING A COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CONFIDENTIAL
PERSONNEL-(EFFECTIVE MARCH 27. 1977) AND :RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NO. 5227
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as fol-
lows.:
SECTION l, Pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of
Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto~ the Compen-
sation Plan, as set forth in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made
a part hereof by reference, hereby is adopted for confidential
personnel effective March 27, 1977.
SECTION 2, The Compensation Plan adopted herein shall be
administered by the City Manager in accordancewit.h the Merit
System Rules and Regulations.
SECTION 3, The Compensation Plan shall become effective the
pay period beginning March 27, 1977, and shall continue in effect
until amended or revoked by the Council"
SECTION 4, Th~ City Controller hereby is authorized to im-
plement the Compensation Plan adopted herein in his preparation
of forthcoming payrolls and to make retroactive adjustments to
employees• pay to reflect the effective date of March 27, 1977.
He is _further aut.horized to make changes in the titles of em-
ployee classifications identified in the Table of Authorized
Personnel contained in the 1976-77 budget if such titles have
been changed by the_ Compensation Plan,
SECTION 5. Resolution No. 5227 as to confidential personnel
hereby is rescinded,
SECTION 6-The Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby finds
that the enactment of this resolution is not a "project" within
the meaning of that term as defined in Section 11.04,130 of the
~alo Alto Municipal code and, therefore, no environmental assess-
ment is necessary.
