RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO COMMENDING
ELVIA FERNANDEZ GARWOOD

AS A MEMBER OF THE HUNAN RELATIONS COMMI~SlON
Elvia Fernandez Garwood has diligently and unselfishly contributed
of her time and talents while serving the City of Palo Alto as a
Buman Relations Commissioner from January, 1974, to Jan~ry, 1977;
and
Elvia Fernandez Garwood assisted in guiding the Commission in
a~bstantive and thoughtful efforts in promoting equal opportunity
in housing and employment and in developing cmzamunity relations
and consum?r protection program.;; and
Elvia Fernandez Garwood has made a significant personal contribution
to the community during her ten_t1re as Commissioner in assisting in
develo~ing farsighted programs anJ policy; and
the City of Palo Alto desires to recogni2e the outstanding and
meritorious service of Elvia Fernandez Garwood;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby
commends the outstending and conscientious public service of
Elvia Fernandez Garwood and records its appreciation as well as
the appreciation of the citizens of this community for the service
and contribution rendered during her term of off ice.
