2450 EAST BAYSMORE ROAD CHAl~GJHG USE. IMPROVEMEHTS,
COHPLIAHCE AtID DEWLOPHEHT SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, on June 2, 1975, the Council passed Ordir.ance
2857 changing the zoning classification of certain property
known as 2450 East Bayshore Road to P-C (Planned Couununity),
subject to conditions; and
WHEREAS, on February 9, 1976, the Council passed
Resolution No. 5198, extending the development schedule;
and
WHEREAS, the developer desires to change use, improvements,
compliance and development schedule. Such changes are necessary
for the public interest, safety, convenience and general welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, the council ~£ the City of Palo Alto does
·RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 2. of Ordinance No. 2857 is amended
to reaa as lollows:
"SECTION 2. The diagrams attached hereto entitled "Develop-
ment Plan" are incorporated herein by reference. Said
Development Plan is approved pursuant to Section 18.68.070
of the Palo Alto Municipal Code subject to the following
"following conditions:
A. Use: -
An athletic facility including racquetball/
handball courts, saunas, a weight room, sun room,
lockers, and an office and reception desk not to
exceed 340 square feet in area. The public interest,
health, safety, morals, peace, comfort and general
welfare require that.the previously existing zoning
classification of L-M-D is appropriate except that
the recommended_P-C (Planned Comnunity District) zoning
classification makes better use of the subject property
and promotes the public interest, health, safety,
morals, peace, comfort and general w:elfare; therefore,
in the event that construction is not started within
the time· prescribed by ·this Ordinance, the P-C
(Planned-Comnunity D~s~~~~t) zoning shall lapse and
the zoning of the subject property shall automatically
revert to L-M-D (Limited Manufacturing-Site and
Design Control District) as previously zoned, or
successor zoning designation in any new zoning
ordinance as may be adopted.

and other improvements shall be substantially ss

Exterior lighting shall not_ exceed a maximum of
1.4 foot candles and an average of 0.26 foot

C. Coepliance:
Construction, improvements, and uses shall comply
with all applicable codes and ordinances and with
the requirements of the Palo Alto City Engineer and
the Chief of the Palo Alto Fire Department.
SECTION 2. Section 3. of Ordinance 2857 is amended to
read aa follows:
Development Schedule:_
1. Start of construction within six (6) months of
City Council approval.
2. Completion of all construction and development
within one (1) year of start of construction.
SECTION 3. The Council finds that this project will have
no significant adverse enviromnental impact.
