RESOLUTION NO. 3947
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
COMMENDING CECIL S. RILEY FOR EXCELLENT AND LOYAL
SERVICE OF THE PEOPLE OF PALO ALTO
WHEREAS, Cecil S. Riley has served the City of Palo Alto
for more than eleven years; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure, Mr. Riley performed his
administrative responsibilities in a most exemplary manner,
giving generously and unselfishly of his time and talents in
service to his City governement and to the entire community;
and
WHEREAS, he has served the City of Palo Alto in a most
dignified, faithful, impartial and business -like manner, most
recently as its Assistant City Manager; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Riley, in the performance of his duties, has
given freely of those human qualities of kindness, generosity
and understanding, brought credit and honor to his government
and his cci:imunity; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Riley has resigned his position on December 2,
1966, to assume thepost of, Assistant City Manager in the city of
Oakland, California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto does hereby. extend to Cecil S. Riley its grateful
appreciation for his long and faithful service and its best
wishes for good health and success in the years to come.
