RESOLUTION NO. 3924
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
REQUESTING COUNTY SPONSORSHIP OF AN INTERCITY STUDY
OF REGIONAL SEWERAGE COLLECTION AND
DISPOSAL
WHEREAS, the rapid growth in industry and population
in Santa Clara County and the entire San Francisco Bay
Area will cause, in the immediate future, the necessity
for prompt and systematic development of sewerage col-
lection and disposal facilities; and
WHEREAS, Such development cannot be accomplished
entirely by each city's unilateral action; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Water Quality Con-
trol Board is currently undertaking a study in connection
with the San Francisco Bay -Delta Water Quality Control
Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo
Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Santa Clara
County is hereby requested to initiate, in cooperation with
the State of California Water Quality Control Board and
the Santa Clara Valley Water Conservation and Flood Con-
trol District, a study of regional sewerage collection
and disposal, inviting participation in the study by all
cities in the County.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to send
copies of this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors, the
City Council of each City in Santa Clara County, and
