RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
DESIGNATING PRECINCTS AND NAMING ELECTION OFFICERS FOR
THE SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1966
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as fol-
lows:
SECTION 1. For the purpose of holding and conducting a
special election called to be held in thy: City of Palo Alto on
Tuesday, September 13, 1966, the City of Palo Alto is hereby
districted and subdivided into thirty-six (36) municipal elec-
tion precincts,numbered 1 to 36, inclusive, as more particular-
ly hereinafter set forth. Said precincts shall be respectively
composed of the territory included within those election pre-
cincts hereinafter specified as the same may have been consti-
tuted and designated by the County of Santa Clara for general,
state and county elections, as shown on maps on file in the
Department of Registration and Elections of Santa Clara County,
as of January 7, 1965. The Board of Election for each muni-
cipal election precinct shall consist of one inspector, one
judge, one clerk and one ballot clerk.
The following are the polling places of said election
precincts for said special election, and the following persons
are hereby appointed officers of election and shall constitute
the board of elections for each precinct respectively:

The polls shall be opened at said polling places at 7:00
o'clock a.m. of said day of election and shall be kept open
until 7:00 o'clock p.m. of said day, when the polls shall be
closed (except as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections
Code of the State of California), and the election officers
shall thereupon proceed to canvass the ballots cast thereat,
Only printed ballots furnished by the Registrar of
Voters of Santa Clara County and approved by the City Clerk
shall, be used for voting at said election. Said ballots
shall specify the alternative sites for the Palo Alto civic
center as set forth in Resolution No. 3891, passed May 16,
1966. Each voter shall register his vote by stamping a
cross in the square which represents the site he or she
desires as the location for the Palo Alto Civic Center, and
he shall use for such purpose only the official stamp fur-
nished by the City of Palo Alto.
SECTION 2. The above named officers of election shall
be paid for the performance of such services at the following
rates:

This resolution is passed in accordance with the Charter
and election laws of the City of Palo Alto for the purpose

of designating precincts and naming election officers for the
special election to be held on September 13, 1966, at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Palo Alto
held August 8, 1966, at 7:30 p.m. by the following vote:
