RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
DECLARING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY SURPLUS TO THE NEEDS
OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO SELL AND DISPOSE OF SAID PROPERTY AND
RESERVING AND EXCEPTING CERTAIN PUBLIC UTILITIES
EASEMENTS THEREIN
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. Subject to the reservation of easements set
forth hereinafter, the real property described in Section 2 here-
of is declared surplus to the needs of the City and the City Manager
is hereby authorized to sell and dispose of said property at the
highest price obtainable based on sealed bids, provided that no
bid shall be accepted unless the bidder owns one of the parcels
of land that abut said property and provided further that the
City Manager may award Parcels A and B to either the same or to
different bidders or reject any and all bids at his discretion.
SECTION 2. The property hereby declared surplus and the
easements reserved and excepted are described as follows:
Parcel A
BEGINNING at a point on the northeasterly line of Louis
Road (60 feet wide), distant thereon S. 52° 00' E. 46.07
feet from the point of intersection thereof with the
common dividing line between Lots 139 and 140, C. M. Wooster
Company's Subdivision of the Clarke Ranch, a map of which
was recorded November 11, 1912 in Book "0" of Maps at
page 16, records of Santa Clara County, California; thence
N. 50° 23' E. parallel to said common dividing line
148.45 feet; thence S. 52° 00' E. 12.29 feet; thence
S. 50° 23' W. 148.45 feet, to a point on said northeasterly
line of Louis Road; thence N. 52° 00' W. along said north-
easterly line 12.29 feet to the point of beginning, being
a portion of said Lot 140,
Reserving therefrom an easement for public utilities pur-
poses in, under, over and across the entire property
hereinabove described.
Parcel B
BEGINNING at a point on the northeasterly line of Louis
Road (60 feet wide), distant thereon S. 52° 00' E. 46.07
feet from the point of intersection thereof with the
common dividing line between Lots 139 and 140, C. M. Wooster
Company's Subdivision of the Clarke Ranch, a map of which
was recorded November 11, 1912 in Book "0" of Maps at page
16, records of Santa Clara County, California; thence

N. 50' 23' E. parallel with said common dividing line
148.45 feet, to the True Point of Beginning; thence con-
tinuing N. 50° 23' E. 179.92 feet; thence S. 39' 37' E.
120.00 feet; thence S. 384 00' W. 150.00 feet; thence
N. 524 00' W. 155.79 feet, to the True Point of Beginning,
being a portion of said Lot 140,
Reserving therefrom an easement for public utilities purposes
in, under, over and across the following described parcel:
BEGINNING at the True Point of Beginning hereinabove des-
cribed and running thence N. 50° 23' E. 179.92 feet;
thence S. 39' 37' E. 10.00 feet; thence S. 50@ 23' W.
162.36 feet; thence S. 52* 00' E. 10.24 feet; thence
S. 50* 23' W. 5.12 feet; thence S. 52' 00' E. 133.11 feet,
to a point on the southeasterly line of said parcel
hereinabove described; thence S. 38x 00' W. 10.00 feet,
to the most southerly corner of said parcel; thence
N. 52x 00' W. along the southeasterly line of said
parcel 155.79 feet to the point of beginning.
Said property and easements are shown on the map attached hereto
as EXHIBIT A and by reference made a part hereof.
SECTION 3. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute
and deliver on behalf of the City a grant deed to the person or
persons legally entitled to the above property by reason of the
sale, reserving and excepting therefrom said public utilities
easements and subject to a right of passage over Parcel A in
favor of the Eichler Swim and Tennis Club through April 30, 1968.
