HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 3992r ., r RESOLUTION NO. 3992 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATES OF PER DIEM WAGES IN CONTRACTS FOR PUBLIC WORKS FOR THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION 3892 ADOPTED 6-13-66 IAA CI� WHEREAS, under the provisions of Division 2, Paragraph 7, Article 2, of the Labor Code (Sections 1770-1780) e public body awarding a contract or authorizing public work shall de- termine the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in accordance with standards set forth in Section 1773 of said Code for each craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute the contract; and WHEREAS, the City Council has ascertained and considered applicable wage rates established by collective bargaining agreements within the locality and in the nearest labor market area, particularly the Santa Clara -San Benito Counties Building and Construction Trades Council wage scales. NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. That the Council hereby determines the general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the Palo Alto locality for all public works construction by the City under contract to be those rates set forth in that document entitled "Building Trades Wage Rates - Union Wage Rates and Selected Wage Supplements 58 California Counties" dated March 1, 1967, consisting of 135 pages, attached hereto, marked EXHIBIT A and made a part hereof by reference. SECTION 2. In advertising for bids on contracts for public works reference to this resolution shall be sufficient notice to bidders of what the general prevailing rates of - 1 - per diem wages are in this locality. SECTION 3. Resolution No. 3892, adopted June 13, 1966, is hereby rescinded. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall file a copy of this resolution with the Director of Industrial Relations, San Francisco, California.
