HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 3966ZSOLUTION NO. 3966 • RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DECLARING ITS CONTINUING IN'T'EREST IN, AND REQUESTING ADDITIONAL TIME FOR THE STUDY OF, THE POSSIBILITY OF CONSOLIDATING THE SEWAGE TREATMENT FACILITY OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO WITH THOSE OF THE CITIES OF MOUNTAIN VIEW AND LOS ALTOS WHEREAS, the Cities of Palo Alto, Mountain View and Los Altos are under a directive from the State of California Regional Water Quality Control Board to notify the said board by March 15, 1967, of a specific set of actions and time tables establiehed by the cities respectively for the purpose of improving the discharge of their respective sewage treatment facilities; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Palo Alto has caused a study to be made of the feasibility of consolidating these said facilities, which said study was conducted by John Jenks, Consulting Sanitary Civil Engineer, and which said study indicated that signifi- cant economies can be realized by consolidating the said facilities; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE AND DECLARE that it is interested in further exploring the feasibility and practicality of combining its sewage treatment facilities with those of the City of Mountain View and the City of Los Altos and respectfully requests that the State of California Regional Water Quality Control Board waive and extend the previous- ly designated deadline of March 15, 1967, for submission:of data and time tables, until additional study ..an be made and additional data becomes available concerning :Ile prospects for consolidation.
