RESOLUTION NO. 3949
A RESOLUTION DIRECTING PREPARATION OF INVESTIGATION REPORT
UNDER DIVISION 4 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE •
CALIFORNIA AVENUE AREA PARKING PROJECT NO. 65-9
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, California,
that the -City Engineer, a competent person for this purpose, is
hereby directed to proceed and prepare such information as may be
required therefor, to make a report in the form set forth in Divi-
sion 4 of the Streets and Highways Code, for the following acquisi-
tions and improvements, to wit;
a) The construction of a multi -story off-street motor vehicle
parking garage on the existing parking lot of the Calm
fornia Avenue Area Parking District bounded southwesterly,
southeasterly and northeasterly by alleys and northwest-
erly by paabridge'Avenue.
b) The acquisition of the southwesterly 121.37 feet of the
southeasterly 130 feet of the block bounded by California
Avenue, Birch Street, Sherman Avenue and Ash Street, and
the improving thereof as an off-street motor vehicle park-
ing lot and of existing public ways to be used for ingress
thereto and egress therefrom, by grading and the construc-
tion therein of base pavement, wearing surface, curbs,
gutters, drainage facilities, lighting facilities, strip-
ing, landscaping, and all auxiliary work necessary to
complete the same as off-street automobile parking facil-
ities.
c) The acquisition of all lands, easements and facilities
and the construction of all work auxiliary to any of the
above and necessary to complete the same.
All as more particularly described in Resolution No. 3948
of Preliminary Determination adopted by this Council on January 3 ,
1967, to which resolution reference is hereby made for a particular
description of the general nature, location and extent of the pro-
posed acquisitions and improvements, of the boundaries or extent of
the district or lands to be specially assessed to pay all the costa
thereof, and of the Statutes under which. the proceedings therefor
are proposed to be conducted.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and
correct copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the
Council oftheCity of Palo Alto, California, at a meeting
thereof held on the 3rd day of January, 1967, by the following
vote of the members thereof:
