HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 5180' RESOLUTION NO. 5180 • ORIGINAL RESOLtrrION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DISSOLVING THE BARRON PARK FIRE DISTRICT UPON ANNEXATION OF ALL TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF PALO ALTO WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 74-142 relating to the proposed Barron Park annexation to the City of Palo Alto, the Santa Clara County Local Agency Formati,on Commission on December 4, 1974, approved the aforesaid proposal and required that the City of Palo Alto shall withdraw the territory described therein from the Barron Park Fire District with one year after the ~nex­ ation ia complete i!"\ accordance with Health and Safety Code Section 139521 and WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code section 13~50 provides that, whenever all of the territory of a district is annexed to, or otherwise included within, any city, the district may be dis- solvedJ and ' WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto has been informed by the County of Santa Clara that tbe boundaries of the Barron Park Fire District are coterminus with the bot.ndaries of the territory known aa Barron Park, all of which territory was annexed to, or otherwise included within, the City of Palo Alto on December 8, 19751 and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council of the City of Palo Alto that said Barron Park Fire District should be dis- solved pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 13950 rather th_an withdrawing the Barron Park territo~ from said District pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 13952; NOW, THBRBPOU, the _t;:(,uncd.1 of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE aa follow&: SEC'l'IOH·1.
