AMENDING RESOLUTION ·NO·; ·4e1'J ADOPTING ""A-'C'OMPENSATION
PLAN FOR CLASSIFIED. AND.CASUAL. PERSUNNEIJ,· AS AMENDED
BY RESOLUTION NO. 4958
WHEREAs;·pursuant to section·12 of Article III of the Charter
of the City of Pa:Lo Alto, the council of the City .of Palo Alto on
August 20 .• 1974, did pass Resolution No .. 4813 ·adopting a Compen-
sation Plan for. Classified and Cas.ual Personnel . (ef'fective June
25, 19.73) for the fiscal years 1973-1974 and 1974-1975, as amended
by Resolutio~ No. 4958, passed on June 25, 1974: and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto· desires to amend said Com-
pensation Plan with respect to casual appointments; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Palo Alto on June 23,
1975, passed Resolution No. 5107 declaring that saitl Compensation
Plan amendment would become effective October l, 1975; and
WHEREAs~·city staff intends to incorporate final· recom.~endations
relative to employment policies for casual employees into the 1976-
1977 operating budget; and
WHEREAs~·the Council of the City of Palo Alto, believes that
the implementation of said employment policies should be carefully
considered by staff studies currently underway;
NOW, THEREFORE;·t~e Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION. 1. Page 6 of said Compensation Plan hereby is
amended by changing t.he last sentence of the par,1graph conc~rning
casual appointments to read as follows:
"The above guid~lines shall in no case become
effective prior to July 1, 1976."

other respects shall remain in full force and effect.
