I I l • • RESOLUTION NO. -~113 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO AMENDING RESOLUTIONS 4814 {AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTIONS 4957 AND 4984) AND 4813 (AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTIONS 4958 AND 5107) ADOPTING. ·AMENDMENTS TO THE COMPENSATION PLAN FOR CASUAL. MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL PERSONNEL (EFFECTlVE JUNE 22: 1975) FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1975-1976 The Council of the Ci~y of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION l. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of Article 111 'Crthe Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the· amendments co the salary range tables of the Compensation Plan for Casual 1 Management and Confidential Personnel as set forth in EXHIBITS A,. B and C, attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.hereby are adopted for the fiscal year 1975-1976. S'EC'l'lON 2~~ _The City Manager and City Controller hereby are authorized to implement a salary adjustment of seven and one-half percent (7.5') for those employees within the Classified salary range tables who have worked during the period beginning July 1, 1975. SECTION 3. The City Manager .and City Controller are authotlzed to inctease the city contribution on behalf of management and conf 1dential employees to various benefit pro- grams by an amount equal to .2i of the management and con- fiden~ial payroll. SECTION 4. The Compensation Plan amendments shall be- come ef'~ect1ve fol:' 1975:.1976 beginning June 22. 1975, and shall continue in effect until amended or revoked by the Council. SECTION 5. The City Manager and City Controller hereby are autKorized to implement che Compensation Plan amenchnents adopted herein in the preparation of forthcoming payrolls and to make retroact~ve adjustments to employees' pay to reflect the effective date of June 22, 1975. They further are authorized to make changes to the titles of employee classifications identified. in the Table of Aurhorized Personnel contained in the 1975-1976 Budget if such t:itles have been changed by the Compensation Plan amendments. SECl'ION 6. Resolutions 4814 (as amended by 4957 and 4984) and 4813 (as amended by 4958 and 5107) previously adopted shall remain in full force and effect except for those amendments set forth in this resolution. SECTION 7. The Council of the City of Pale'.> Alto hereby -1 .. .e finds that the enactment of this resolution is not a "project" within the meaning of that term as defined in Section 11.04.130 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code and, therefore~ no environmental assessment is necessary. l.NTRODUCED AND PASSED· Jl.aly 21, 1975 AYES. " EXHIBIT C Page 6 l. Casual appointments hired after 6/23/74 will be limited to positions which require fewer than 40 working hours per week. and which do not exceed under any circumstances 12 months in duration~ or those requiring fewer than 20 hours per week on an indefinite basis. Employees filling such positions will n<>t be.eligible for benefits, except those required by law. (In any seven-day work week, overt1me premium must be paid for hours worked in excess of 40.) Employees hiretf prior to 6/23/74 the above guidelines become effective lq/1/75. 2. Special appointments hired after 6/23/74 will be limited to po~1tions which are full tiine (40 hours per week) Eut which do not exceed 12 consecutive months. This will include full-time seasonal apPQ1ntments which recur each year but which do not· exceed nine months in twelve. Other than for seasonal positions, funding ot··the same special position wil 1 not_-~e _penn1tted to extend beyond· 12 months. Employees filling special appointments will be eligible for overtime premiums and entitled to paf d holidays which occur during payroll periods when . 40 or more hours per week are wrked.
