Home My WebLink AboutRESO 5077•I " • • ORIGINAL P.ESOLUTION NO. 5077 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ANNEXATION ELECTlON FOR THE BARRON PARK ANNEXATION AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING ON THE ANNEXATION AND REQUESTED EXCLUSIONS OF PROPERTY The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. It is the intention of the City Council to--call a special election and to submit the question of annexation of territory hereafter described to the City of Palo Alto to those qualified electors as required by Government Code Section 35122. The territory is described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part of' this resolution. SECTION 2. The territory is designated and identified as "Barron Park." SECTION 3. Notice is qiven that on April 21, 1975, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Palo Alto, any interested person rr~y appear before the City Council concerning the proposed annexation. SECTION 4. At any time not later than the hour set for final hearing on the proposed annexation, any ownex of real property within the territory may make a written request, filed with the City Council, for exclusion of his or her property from the proposed annaxation. Such a request shall contain sufficient information to identify the property for which the exclusion is sought. SECTION s. The special election will be held within the territory proposed to be annehed. However, if the City Council finds that the value of the territory proposed to be annexed equals one-half or more of the value of the territory within the City as shown by the last equalized assessment rolls, or that the number of qualified elector• of the territory proposed to be • • ' -. ·annexed equals one-half or more of the number of qualified electors within the City as shown by the county registration of voters, a special election shall ·also be held on the same question and at the same time within the City, as provided in Government Code Section 35122. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall have a copy of this resolu- tion published in accordance with Section 6066 of the Government Code (once a week for two successive weeks prior to the hearing) in a newspaper of general circulat.ion published in the territory proposed to be annexed; if there is non~, the resolution shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Palo Alto. The ~ity Clerk shall also mail a copy of this resolution to each owner of an equitable or legal interest in land within the territory proposed to be annexed who has filed with the City Clerk his or her name and address and a general description of such lanG sufficient to identify it on the last equalized assessment roll. The resolution shall be mailed not less than t~enty days before the date set for the hearing. SECTION 7. The Council finds that none of the provisions of this resolution will have a significant environmental impact.
