I RESOLUTION NO. 5075
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ADOPTING A COMPENSATION PLAN FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
PERSONNEL (EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 22, 1974) FOR THE
BALANCE OF FISCAL YEAR 1974-1975 AND A PORTION OF
FISCAL YEAR 1975-1976, ENDING DECEMBER 20, 1975.
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as fol-
lows:
SECTIOH l. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 12 of
Article III of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto, the Com-
pensation Plan, as set forth in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and
made a part hereof by reference, is hereby adopted for Fire
Department personnel for the balance of fiscal year 1974-1975,
and a portion of fiscal year 1975-1976, ending December 20,
1975.
SECTION 2. The Compensation Plan adopted herein shall be
administered by the City Manager in accordance with the Merit
System Rules and Regulations.
SECTION 3. The Compensation Plan shall become effective
December 22, 1974, and shall continue in effect until December 20,
1975, or until amended or revoked by the Council.
SECTION 4. The City Controller is hereby authorized to _
implement the eompensation Plan adopted herein in his preparation
of forthcoming payrolls and to make retroactive adjustments to
employeest pay to reflect the effective date of December 22, 1974.
He is further authorized to make changes to the titles of employee
classifications identified in the Table of Authorized Personnel c~ntained in the affected budgets if-such titles have been changed
by the Compensation Plan.

CITY OF PALO ALTO EMPLOYEE HEALTH PLAN
Proposed Amendments to Coverage Provisions
l) Amend the sentence immediately following "SECTION I -
PERSONS ON WHOSE BEHALF BENEFITS WILL BE PROVIDED" to
read as follows:
Persons on whose behalf benefits will be prcvided
hereunder, hereinafter c-alled "Members," are covered
active employees, covered retired.emplo}ees,
covered spouses of deceased employees, and
their covered dependents, defi.ned as follows:
2) Amend subsection A. of Section.I by adding a subnumber 3.,
to ~ead as follows:
3. Spouses of Dec.eased Employees :
The srouse of a deceased employee may elect to be
covered under the provisions of the "Retired Employees
Health Plan," described in Section 2, hereinabove,
but only if the death of said employee occurred at
a time when he or she was l) a regular full-tim~ active
employee and 2) a Covered Active Employee under
this Plan.
3) Amend the second line of subsection B. of SECTION I to add
the following lanquage inmediately following the first
"Employee• appearing in said line:
(see remarriage exception for Covered Spouse
of Deceased Employee, subnumber 4. , of subsection A
of SEC'l'ION III),
4) Amend the sentence i.nuraediutely following •sECTION II -EFFECTIVE
DATE OF COVERAGE" to read as follows:
