RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
COMMENDING THE CONSCIENTIOUS AND OUTSTANDING PUBLIC
SERVICE OF GRACE MC.ALLESTER

WHEREAS, GRACE MCALLESTER haa diligently and unselfishly contributed . .
of her time and talents while serving the City of Palo Alto as a Human Relations
Commissioner from January 1, 1972 to December 31. 1974; and
Wi-iEREAS, GRACE MCALLESTER served as Chairperson of the Human Relations
Commission, from May 10, 1973 to Sept.ember 27, 1973, guiding the Commission
in substantive and thoughtful efforts in promoting equal opportunity in housing and
employment and in fostering improved com-:nunity relations; and
WHEREAS, GRACE MCALLESTER has made a significant personal contribution
to the community during her tenure as Chairperson and Conunissione. in
assisting in developing farsighted prograrj1s and policy; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto desirP.13 to recognize the outstanding and
metritorious service of GRACE MCALLESTER:
NOW, THE;REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo
Alto hereby commends the outstanding and conscientious public service of
GRACE ::vlCALLESTER and records its appreciation as well as the app~·eciation
of the citizens of this community for the service atd contribution rendered during
her ter:m of office.
