RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
ORDERING THE VACATION OF AN OVERHEAD POWER LINE
BASEMEN'! (EASEMENT NO~ ·J42)
WHEREAS, the Council of the City ·of Palo Alto on the -2~5~th~~....
day of Nmrember , 1974, did pass its resolution of intention
to vacate an easement ove·r and :across that certain parcel of land as
described in Exhibit 11A• and· as set·. forth on a map entitled Exhibit
••s 11 , both attached hereto and· on file with the .original of said
Resolution No. 502a in the Office of the City Clerkr and
WHEREAS,. pursuant to said resolution,: a·publia hearing was
duly noticed and held on -· Deceml>er i 6 , 19 7 4 ; and
WHEREAS, from all the.evidence.submitted,. .the.City Council.of
the City of Palo, Al.to c£inds· that· said·:easement .. is unnecessary for
present or prospective· power· .line~ purposes r·
NOW, THEREFORE, .the. .Council of the· City:.of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as· follows:
SECTION l.. The easement· described .and:!shown 'in .. Exhibits "A"
and "Bw attached hereto -is· hereby ordered··vacated.
SECTION 2. The Council: finds that·.v.acation of this easement
will have no significant· environmental· impact.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall .. cause a certified copy of .-this .
resolution to be recorded in· the Office of the County .Recorder of
Santa Clara County.

'POWER LINE EASEMENT PROPOSED TO BE VACATED
The power line easement proposed to be vacated was recorded
July 3, 1958, i~ Book 4114 at page 13, Official Records of
Santa Clara County, California, as Document No. 1487915, said
easement being property situated in the City of Palo Alto,
County of Santa Clara, State of California, being a strip of
l.and ten (10) feet in width measured at right angles, the
center line of which is described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the Southeasterly line of
California Avenue at the most Westerly corner of that
certain 5.479 acre tract of land described in. the
memorandum of lease executed by and between.the Board
of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University,
Lessor, and Beckman Inatrwnents, Inc., Lessee, dated
Decembe~ 28, 1955, recorded January 11, 19Sb in Book
3384 of Official Records at page 14, Santa Clara County
Records; THENCE along the Southwesterly line of said
5.479 acre parcel South 56° 39' East 665.36 feet:
THENCE South 56° 26' 07" East 564.82 feet to the
Northwesterly line of Page Mill Road (120.00 feet in
width).
