RESOLUTION NO. 4972 ORIGINAL
A RESOLUTION PRELIMINARILY APPROVING ENC IN Er:R' S RF.PORT.
AND FIXING TIME AND PIACE O~ HEARING THEREON, UNDER
DIVISION 4 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE
CALIFORNIA AVENUE ARFA OFFSTREET PARKING
PROJECT NO. 71-63
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, California, that
WHERFAS, this council ordered the City Engineer, under Division 4
of the Streets and Highways Code, to prepare a report for the following
acquisitions and improvements in this City, to wit:
The acquisition of the following parcels of property and the
improvement thereof as public offstreet automobile parking
lots by grading, excavation, removing existing structures
and the construction therein of pavement, striping, bumper
stops, curbs, gutters, walkways, drainage improvements,
lighting facilities, signs, landscaping and all auxiliary
and related work necessary to complete the same aa offstreet
motor vehicle parking facilities:
Parcel I. A parcel of land at the southerly intersection of
Birch Street and Cambridge Avenue;
Parcel II. A parcel of land at the wea(erly intersection of
Birch Street and Sherman Avenue; ./
Parcel III. A parcel of land fronting on Birch Street and ·
lying between Parcel II and the alley between_california
Avenue and Sherman Avenue;
WHEREAS, said report has been completed and presented to this
Council, and this Council has examined said report; :~<.:>
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as t"ollowe:
1. That said report is hereby preliminarily approved and ordered
filed with the City Clerk, who shall endorse thereon the fact and date
of this approval.
2. That Monday, the 28th day of October, 1974, at the hour of
7:30 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers; Civic Center, Palo Alto,
California, are hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing upon said
report.
3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of the hearing
on said report in the form provided by law, by mailing copies of said
notice at least thirty days prior to the date ot the hearing, postage
prepaid, to each person to whom land in the proposed aaseaament district

address as shown on such r~ll, and to each person whether owner in fee
or having a lien upon or legal or equity interest in any land within
the proposed district, whose name and address and designation of the
lands in which he is interested is on file in the office of the City
Clerk.

copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the Council of the City
