A RESOLUTCON APPOINTING 'rIME AND PLACE OF HFARlNG
PROTF.ST~~ 1 N RELA'l TON TO PROPOSF.D ACQU13!TIONS
AN'D IMPROVEMEN'fS, AND DIRECTING NOTICE,
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 17
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Palo Alto, Califo?Tlia,
WHERFAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 4961 of Preliminary Deter-
mination and of Intention adopted by this Council on Ju 1 y 1,
1974 pursuant to-the Palo Alto Municipal Code, the City F.r!~ineer
has filed with the City Clerk the written report called t'cr under
said Code and by said Resolution of Preliminary Determination and
of Intention, which report has been presented by said Clerk to this
Council for consideration, and this Council has considered and pre-
liminarily approved and confirmed same and ordered that said report
stand as the report for the purpose of all subsequent prcceedings
had pursuant to said Resolution of Prelimirary Determina~ir:n and
of Intention;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, that Monday, the 12th day of
August , 1974, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., Counci.: ChambersJ
Civic Center, Palo Al to, Calif"'ornia, be, and the same are hereby
appointed and fixed as the time and place when ~nd where s&id
Council will consider and finally determine whether the publ1c
interest, convenience and necessity require s~id acquisitions a..~d
improvements, and when and where it will consider and finally act
upon the Engineer's report under said Resolution of Preliminary
Determtnation and of Intention.
IT TS FURTHER ORDERED, that the City Clerk be, and she is

hereby directed to give notice of said hearing twice in the Pale
Alto Times, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, and
by conspicuously posting a notice thereof along all the open streets
within the assessment district at not more than 300 feet apart and

not less than three in all; said poating and first publication to
be had and completed at least ten (10) days before the date herein
set for hearing of protests.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that said notice• to be posted shall be
headed "Notice of Improvement" in letters or not lea1 than one .. half
inch in height and shall, in legible character•, atate the tact and
date of the passage of saiJ Resolution or Preliminary Dete:nn1nat1on
and of Intention, and of the filing or aa1d report, and ot the date,
hour and place set for the hearing of said prot11t1, and brietly
describe the acquisitions and improvement• propoaed to be made, and
refer to said Resolution of Preliminary Detenn1nat1on and ot Inten ..
tion and report for further particulars.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that the City Clerk •hall mail, or
cause to be mailed notice of the adoption of said Reaolution and
the fil~ng of said report, postage prepaid, at le< ten (10) days
before the date set for hearing of said proteata, to all persona
owning real property to be assessed whose names and addresses
appear on the last equalized assessment roll tor City taxes prior
thereto, or as known to the Clerk, which notice •hall contain a
statement of the time, place and purpose ot ~he hearing on 1a1d
Resolution of Preliminary Determination and of Intention and report,
and a statement of the total estimated cost of the proposed acqui-
. s1 t1ons and improvements, the amount as showr>. by said report to be
assessed against the particular parcel covered by the notice, to-
gether with. a statement that any person interested may t1le a pro-
test in writing as provided 1n said Municipal Code.
