RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
COMMENDING AND COMMEMORATIHG .nm CITY OF MENLO PARK,
CALIFORNIA ON ITS ONE-HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, the CITY OF MENLO PARK is celebrating its one-
hundredth year of incorporation; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Menlo Park-and Palo Alto share a
coumon heritage by their first exploration by Don Gaspar de
Portola in 1769 and their growth as neighboring communities;
and -
WHEREAS, the relationship between the cities of Menlo Park
and Palo Alto has been characterized by a spirit of cooperation
and mutual respect; and
WHEREAS, the CITY OF MENLO PARK has earned a well deserved
reputation as a conmunity which has shown sensitivity to the
environment and to preserving the qualities which make the
Mid-Peninsula an outstanding area in·which to live, ,,.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED.that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby extends-its-waTlD congratulations
on behalf of the citizens of the City of Palo Alto to the
citizens of the CITY OF MENLO PARK on its one-hundredth
anniversary.
