A RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION UNDER
DIVISION 4 OF THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE
CALIFORNIA AVENUE ARF.A OFFSTREET PARKING
PROJ!X:T NO. 71-63
RESOLVED, by the Council of the C1ty of Palo Alto, California, that
1. The public interest, convenience and necessity require and
that it 1• the intention of this Council to undertake certain acquisi-
tions and improvements within aaid City and to assess the cost thereof
on lands benerited thereby, said acquisitions and improvements being
generally described as follows:
The acquisition of the following parcels of propert1 and the
improvement thereof as public otfatreet automobile parking
lots by grading, excavation, removing existing structures
and the construction therein of pavement, striping, bumper
stops, curbs, gutters, walkways, drainage improvements,·
lighting tacilitiea, signs, landscaping and all auxiliary
and related work necesaa17 to complete the same as otfatreet
motor vehicle parking tac111ties:
Parcel I. A parcel of land at the southerly intersection ot
Bil"Ch street and Cambridge Avenue.
Parcel II. A parcel ot land at the westerly intersection ot
Birch Street and Sherman A~enue.
Parcel III. A parcel of' land tronting on Birch Street and iifiii bitween Parcel II and the alley between Calitomia
Avenue and Sherman Avenue. ·
2. Reference is hereby~ to the map or plat ehowing the
general nature, location and extent ~ Hid acquisition• and improve-
ments tor a further deacr1pt1~n of' said work and for all particulars
relating thereto, which •P or plat 1a on tile in the off'ice ot the
City Clerk and open to public inspection.

Ro. 2798 duly introduced by thia Council on June 17, 1974, and
